April Hail Damages Ada Hayden Area Homes

On Wednesday, April 15th, 2026 – two days ago, the Ada Hayden area neighborhood had a golfball sized hailstorm, which damaged roofs, siding, gutters and downspouts. The above picture shows an Ada Hayden hail impact, one of a couple hundred, on a 10 year old 4000+ sq ft roof. The shingle shows impact cracking on a 10 year old roof. A few other different, but more serious impacts were observed to exhibit “spider web” fiberglass damage – which could have resulted from a prior hail storm. The shingles on this typical home were ripe for hail and wind damage, since they were already brittle and aged, as seen from the amount of granules in the gutters.

Our primary duty at Nanosilica Contractors is to educate the public to restore their roofs every ten years with GoNano Nuroof Revive or Fortify. Roofs with GoNano treatment can withstand two inch hail impacting at 200mph and 120mph derecho winds. These pictures show the results of roofs not treated with GoNano. However, a roof replacement is only one option. Another option is a part shingle replacement (of the more damaged shingles exhibiting spider web fiberglass damage), followed by a GoNano NuRoof Revive application. Ada Hayden homeowners should not be pressured into a full roof replacement (around $25k for a 4000 sq ft roof). Instead, homeowners should get at least two estimates – one for full roof replacement and a second one for shingle repair/GoNano NuRoof Revive, or GoNano NuRoof Fortify, which, in all likelihood, will be less than half the cost of a full roof replacement, plus with better protection against wind, hail and UV.
